Alumni Email Forwarding Service

Upon graduation from Centre College, each student email account remains active for one year. This transition period is provided as a convenience to new Centre alumni and enables them to establish an email forwarding service through the Alumni Office as described below.

On June 1st, one year following the student’s commencement, the email account will be deleted from Centre’s Exchange Email system. Graduated students are encouraged to use the one year transition period to establish an email account with some convenient service and to create a forward service through Centre’s Alumni Affairs Office or CentreLink.

This is an example of how to set up an email forwarding service with Centre using an existing email account*:

  • Create an email account address, e.g. Gmail.com or Hotmail account. Actually, any outside email service will work.
  • Request from the Alumni Office a new email address that will take the form of your current address modified to reflect your alumni status and grad year.
    • An example would be Jane Doe. Jane Doe’s E-mail address as a Centre student was Jane.Doe@centre.edu. After an E-mail forwarding request, Centre College Alumni Affairs has given Jane a forwarding address reflecting Jane’s alumni status and her graduation year as jane.doe06@alumni.centre.edu.

*Unless the student forwards any existing emails in their student account to their base (Gmail, Hotmail, etc.) account, everything will be lost when the student account is deleted from the system. Also, the email forwarding account does not create an alumni account on the Centre’s Exchange email System.
