Installing Windows XP Service Pack 2

- Download the Windows XP Service Pack 2 installation program [here]. Save this file to your Desktop.
- Double-click the WindowsXP-KB835935-SP2-ENU.exe file that you saved on your Desktop.
- Once all of the files are done extracting, the Welcome to the Windows XP Service Pack 2 Setup Wizard window will be displayed. Click Next >.
- Click the button marked I Agree and then click Next >.
- Click Next > to accept the default location to store the backup files. Setup will then begin copying files to your computer. This could take anywhere from thirty minutes to more than an hour.
- Once the Completing the Windows XP Service Pack 2 Setup Wizard window appears, click Finish to restart your computer.
- After your computer restarts, a Help protect your PC screen will come up. Click the button marked Help protect my PC by turning on Automatic Updates now and then click Next.
- Your computer will then finish starting up and you're ready to go.
