On the Helpdesk: Procedures for Purchasing Technology Equipment
From ITS Wiki
All of the ITS policies, with their latest revisions, are available online on the Helpdesk, at this link: http://wiki.centre.edu/its/index.php/Portal:Policies
One very important policy is the Computer Acquisitions and Replacements Procedures.
While the policy may undergo revisions in language and details from time to time, the spirit of the policy will remain the same: Acquisition of technology equipment (computers, peripheral devises, integrated video equipment, additional RAM, etc.) is the responsibility of Information Technology Services and the Center for Teaching and Learning. Normally, all such acquisitions are based on information generated by ITS and/or requests received from budget managers during the preparation of capital technology budgets (February). Requests received outside this time frame or from individuals other than a budget manager must be avoided. Emergencies will be handled at the discretion of the ITS Director in consultation with the budget manager." (excerpt from the policy)
In a nutshell, all technology purchases on campus should be managed/completed by ITS and CTL.
