Where are the printers on campus?

Black and White

There are many B&W printers located across campus in or near all of the main computer labs and the Library. The cost is $0.06 per sheet and all campus printers require an ID card to be swiped before they will print a job.

Color

The only color printing available on campus is via Centre Document Services (CDS). See below for more information.

IMPORTANT TO REMEMBER!

You are not charged for a print job until you swipe your card and the job is actually printed.

How do I print to the lab printers?

  1. From within the application you are using (like Microsoft Word), click File and then Print.
  2. Enter your user name and a password (optional) in the window that appears.
  3. Swipe your Centre ID card at the print station.
  4. Find your user name in the list and select your print job.
  5. Click the Print button and enter a password, if necessary.
  6. The printer will then print your job.

PLEASE NOTE: Once your job is sent to the printer, it is held in the print queue for 2 hours.

About lab printing

All lab computers in the following locations have RICOH 3350 printers installed:

  • Library Reference Printers
  • Olin 023
  • Young 106 (Temporary Young Hall side entrance)
  • Young 137

If you send a print job to Olin 023, you can release the actual job at one of the Library Reference printers or from Young 137. This is helpful to know if you encounter a malfunctioning printer.

EXAMPLE: If the printer in Young 137 is jammed and out of order, you can release your print job from one of the other RICOH 3350 locations without resending the job.

How do I print from my own computer from my room?

PC

You can print from your personal computer to any of the Ikon/Pharos printers located across campus. In order to print to these printers, you must first install the appropriate software to your computer, located at the Pharos Uniprint website.

This will give you a listing of all the available print stations. Click on the Pharos Campus Queue package and run the program to install it. The Pharos Campus Queue package is for all of the RICOH units in the Library, Olin, and Young. If you are having trouble installing the recommend software, please enter in a Helpdesk call and someone will assist you.
